Locations & Hierarchy

Setting up your locations correctly is essential not only for managing your properties but also for optimizing your Automations and Website Generator. Proper location setup ensures better organization and functionality across your entire platform.

Understanding Location Hierarchy

In RentalWise , Locations are hierarchy-based. This means that you can create a structured relationship between different locations by designating Parent and Child Locations.

Setting Up Location Hierarchy: Simple Steps

  1. 1. Create the Parent Location:

    • Begin by identifying the highest level of your location hierarchy, such as the Country.

    • Create this location first as the Parent Location.

  2. 2. Create the Next Level (Region):

    • After setting up the Parent Location (Country), create the next level, such as the Region.

    • While creating the Region, select the Country as the Parent Location.

  3. 3. Create the City or Final Level:

    • Next, create the City or other specific locations that fall under the Region.

    • Select the Region as the Parent Location when creating the City.

  4. 4. Attach Properties to Locations:

    • Once your hierarchy is set up, you can start attaching properties to their corresponding locations for better organization.

  5. 5. Review and Adjust:

    • Review your location hierarchy to ensure accuracy.

    • You can add, edit, or delete locations as needed, but always start with Child Locations when removing them.

How to Use and Benefit from Location Setup

Once you have successfully configured your locations, you can take advantage of the following features:

  • Property Management: Attach your properties to specific locations to streamline management and organization.(This can be done under the Property's details tab.)

  • Collections & Tags: Use locations to set up collections and tags, making it easier to categorize and manage your properties. (Learn more about Collections & Tags HERE.)

  • Automations: Customize your automations based on location, enabling personalized customer engagement and increased efficiency. (More info about automations HERE.)

  • Website Preferences: Choose which locations to display on your website. This feature is particularly useful for showcasing properties based on their location. (Learn more about Website Preferences HERE.)

Important Notes

  • You can always add, edit, or remove locations as needed.

  • If you need to delete a location, start from the Child Locations and work your way up to avoid issues.

  • Be precise when pin-pointing property locations: Accurately setting the location of your properties is crucial to avoid any issues with OTAs . Incorrect locations can lead to problems with your property listings.

  • Display locations on your website: When adding new locations or setting them up for the first time, make sure to select them in your Website Preferences. This step is essential if you plan to use the Website Generator that we offer, which we highly recommend for showcasing your properties online and increasing the Direct bookings.

By properly setting up your locations and understanding the hierarchy system, you'll improve the overall management and presentation of your properties, both internally and externally.
