Tags & Collections

Why Use Tags & Collections?

Tags & Collections become increasingly valuable as the number of properties you manage grows, especially if your properties are spread across different locations. They help organize and manage properties more efficiently and are particularly useful for those with properties in different countries or regions.

Understanding Tags:

Tags are only for internal use and website configurations. They help you identify properties locally based on your filters. For example, if you have three properties in different locations and of different types, but they all offer a sunset view, you can create a tag called "Sunset View" to easily identify them.

You can set-up your tags in: PMS > Tags.

Once a tag has been created, you can attach it to a property from the Property Menu under the Website tab.

Tags can work alongside collections and locations but remain independent of them, serving primarily for internal management and organizing properties within your website setup.

Understanding Collections:

Collections are groups of properties that share similar characteristics or unique details. For example, if you have properties located on the shore and others on a hill, you can create a "Shore Properties" collection and a "Hill Properties" collection to organize them accordingly.

Collections work alongside tags and locations but are not dependent on them. (To learn more about Locations, click HERE.)

How to Manage Collections:

  1. 1. Access Collections:

    • Go to PMS > Collections.

    • From here, you can easily add, remove, or edit collections as needed.

  2. 2. Attach Properties:

    • Once a collection is created, click on the collection name or the EDIT button.

    • Under the Details tab, attach properties to the collection by selecting EDIT on Collection Properties.

  3. 3. Add Descriptions and Images:

    • Provide a description and attach images to better define the collection.

  4. 4. Display on Your Website:

    • To feature collections on your website, go to the Website tab within the Collection Configuration.

    • Set up the Search Engine Collection Preview to make the collection visible on your site.

How to Properly Set Up Your Collections on Your Website:

  1. 1. Edit Website Details:

    • Here, you can change the Title, slug, meta description, and keywords. By default, the collection's slug will match its name. For example, if your website is "BlueHouse" and your collection is "ShoreProperties," the link will be https://bluehouse.rentalwise.net/collection/ShoreProperties.

  2. 2. Integrate the Collection Link on Your Website:

    • To make the collection visible on your website, go to the My Website module. Under Preferences, scroll down to Filter Properties and select the newly added Collection, then hit Save.

  3. 3. Add to Website Navigation:

    • Go to the Navigation menu under My Website and click EDIT or the name in the Main Menu field. You can either:

      • Nest the Page: This will create a dropdown menu option under an existing tab, like "Properties."

      • Create a New Item: This will add a new menu item on your main page.

    • Label it and select the route, which is the link of the collection (e.g., https://bluehouse.rentalwise.net/collection/ShoreProperties).

  4. 4. Final Steps:

    • Once this is done, your new collections page will be available for your guests to view and book from!

Why Collections Matter:

Collections & Tags are a key benefit for property management internally and enhance your website's presentation. You can create custom pages, feature collections, and display them independently or nest them within your homepage for better organization and improved user experience.
