Setting up a custom email domain for RentalWise ensures you can send professional emails directly to your guests, especially when using automations and message templates (detailed guide on Automations and Message Templates).
Custom email configuration requires a custom domain email. Public domain emails (e.g., [email protected], yahoo.com, outlook.com) will not work for this setup.
Navigate to:
Settings → Email Configuration → Add Email Configuration.
Provide the following details:
From Name: The name you want guests to see as the sender (e.g., your business name).
From Email: The custom domain email you wish to use for guest communication (e.g., [email protected]).
Click on DNS Settings within the Email Configuration page.
Copy the provided DKIM and Return-Path details, which include:
Hostname
Type (TXT and CNAME)
Value
Log in to your hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Hostinger, Namecheap).
Add two records in your domain’s DNS settings as follows:
DKIM Record:
Type: TXT
Hostname: As provided
Value: As provided
Return-Path Record:
Type: CNAME
Hostname: As provided
Value: As provided
Save the records.
Return to RentalWise, where the DKIM and Return-Path statuses will automatically update.
A green checkmark indicates successful verification.
